Comorbidity and ageing with HIV A prospective comparative cohort study

From Jules: 74.4% of HIV-patients and 60.4% of controls self-reported ≥1 AANCC (p< 0.001). The mean number of AANCC was 1.4 and 1.0, respectively (p< 0.001). Individual AANCC are shown in Figure 1: HIV+s had higher prevalence of numerous different comorbidities. As HIV+s got older the prevalence of increasing numbers of comorbidities increased faster among HIV+ vs HIV-. By age 65+ the mean number of comorbidities was 1.47 among HIV- vs 2.04 in HIV+. But all along the way as you can see in the age group comparison in the graph HIV+ always had higher mean numbers of comorbidities compared to HIV-.
