Low Level Viral Load Detection in Blood and Mucosal Sites in Elite Controllers and HAART suppressed Women Enrolled in the Women's Interagency HIV (WIHS) Cohort

  Reported by Jules Levin
19th IAC 2012 Wash DC July 22-27

from Jules: is there really such a thing as elite controllers? They appear to be at risk for ongoing activation, inflammation, just like everyone else, and further at greater risk for comorbidities just like other HIV+s, and perhaps accelerated aging or accentuated aging. So should so called elite controllers be treated with HAART just like everyone else????
