from Jules: many working in the field of HIv and people with HIV do not fully understand or appreciate the scope and impact of mental health issues for people with HIV. HV enters the brain within days after infection and never leaves and causes inflammation, neuronal injury and immune activation, so what are the mental affects over a lifetime - do these affects increase anxiety, mood disorders, depression, aberant behavior, thinking, sleep disorders which in turn increase comorbidities risk? I think so but this does not get much attention.
