Reported by Jules Levin
Joe Eron went to the microphone after the presentation and questioned the strength of observational cohorts and he is correct. The INSIGHT Study that originally found abacavir associated with MIs was a cohort although I think he may have been referring to comparing this study to ACTG5202 which was a large randomized controlled trial finding tenofovir performed better in terms of virologic suppression and failure.
