Effect of hepatitis C treatment with interferon and ribavirin in body composition measurement by DEXA in HIV/HCV coinfected patients (Glasgow 2012)

|
Reported by Jules Levin
from Jules: I am not convinced these results are meaningful because these patients were on peg/rbv for an average of 10 months & as it says in the poster patients lose appetitie, don't eat as much and lose weight on peg/rbv so this is going to affect developing body fat loss & lean body mass loss and development of 'lipodystrophy'. Two, in the future HCV treatment will be 12 or 24 weeks and IFN-free.
