"CH-C patients 65 and older who were hospitalized had inpatient cost of $16,706±24104 and hospital length of stay (vs $7659 for 20-65 YO) [plus a longer length of stay].....
(LOS) of 6±7 days per episode of hospitalization. (Table 1). ........ older patients had greater severity of illness, greater number of diagnoses.....During the index hospitalization, 5.3% of these CH-C patients died. (Table 1)."
