Myocardial Infarction Risk in the NA-ACCORD Compared to MESA and ARIC
from Jules: HIV+ had significantly higher incidence for MI after adjusting, now MESA excluded individuals with CVD risk factors so critics raise this issue & it is an issue BUT this does not distract from the finding that HIV+ had higher rates for MI, regardless HIV+ had higher rates particularly in older age groups - 5-59 & >60 - so perhaps HIV+ have more risk factors, SO, MI rates are higher in HIV+ !
