"Despite progress, significant barriers to engagement in care persist. Reflex confirmatory testing is still needed. New approaches to LTC are needed for patients diagnosed in the ED or inpatient. Payer status also affects engagement in care. A triage pathway assures that patients with advanced disease are linked to care and treated."

" (37 %) have been linked with HCV care provider, but only 26 (7 %) have received medical approval and been treated. Of those not linked to care, 47 (20 %) were ineligible for linkage (death, terminal illness, uncontrolled psychiatric disorder or substance abuse, other) or refused treatment or repeatedly missed visits despite active case follow up. "
