Significant and Sustained Improvement of Health-Related
Quality of Life Scores in Patients with Hepatitis C
and Sustained Virologic Response

from Jules: This study assessed long-term changes in HRQL in subjects with chronic HCV infection who have achieved SVR. It is 3 years followup from the Gilead registry: "The data came from the "Long Term Follow-up Registry for Subjects Who Achieve a Sustained Virologic Response to Treatment in Gilead-Sponsored Trials" ......Subjects with SVR by the original protocols' definitions were enrolled to participate in the registry for up to 3 years"......Patients completed forms at baseline and then every 24 weeks. the following were evaluated: Physical Functioning, Role Physical, Bodily Pain, General Health, Vitality, Social Functioning, Role Emotional, Mental Health; and, Physical and Mental Summary scores and a preference-based utility SF-6D score. Improvements in all these areas of measure were seen after SVR and improvements persisted for 3 years after SVR...see ALL the specific results below, all the graphs of the results. Patients with depression, fatigue, insomnia and cirrhosis at baseline saw greater improvements.
