from Jules: we re not doing well in the USA or globally at thus time in the effort to eliminate HCV. In the USA progress is so slow its unlikely elimination will ever occur, see poster at EASL I reported on global elimination efforts by country and the US is ranked very low. The federal government has not responded, there is no national funded ended effort to screen, link and treat; there are a few state efforts some of which have improved their situation - some may or may not pan out, but only a few; and globally although there is an effort as evidenced by this presentation & there was a lot of attention at EASL about this, at this time the overall elimination effort lacks funding and has many obstacles and barriers, a gigantic effort. Many others have expressed they are embarrassed by the US lack of response and are not encouraged about global elimination.
