Multimorbidity: Present in 62.9% and rose with age (figure 2). Those with MM
were older than those without (median age 60.5 vs 58.6, p=0.023).
Different hypotheses exist for why greater MM occurs in PLWH, notably chronic
inflammation, premature immunosenescence and ART toxicity alongside a greater
burden of behavioural risk factors 3,4. Many associations with MM are reported
including both HIV factors and traditional risk factors.
