There is a need for a vaccine. The challenge of past vaccine approaches has been virus diversity. Here is a new approach to vaccine development targeting the hypervariable region of HCV. Here is the data with the inhibition of viral entry in the HCVpp across genotypes 1-6. Although perhaps promising there is still a long way to go.
