AGEING WITH HIV (IAS Plenary): Prioritizing person-centred care

Premature death is prominent for many elderly PWH - How long will it take for our HIV care system leaders & decision makers to wake up & make changes that will provide the care appropriate for older & elderly PWH who right now are NOT getting their care needs met & many are prematurely contracting comorbidities and dying prematurely as a result, and suffering disability & impairment both physical & mental. We have a $2 billion RW Care Act and 200,000 PWH are over 60, by 2030 its expected 75% will be over 50, in NYC by 2030 80% will be over 50 & 50% over 60. Our federal leaders are ignoring this problem. Despite that HRSA funded 10 aging/HIV clinics 95% of older PWH do not get any geriatric screenings or care !!!!
