In conclusion, alcohol-related liver disease & hepatitis C were the main causes of HCC in our center in recent years, in the era of total accessibility to DAA, the development of HCC in HCV-related liver disease patients remains a significant concern, especially in those with advanced fibrosis & cirrhosis, MASLD-related HCC, although growing globally, was not relevant in our data, accounting for only 13% of our patients. further studies will be necessary to establish MASLD's influence in the shared risk factors, promoting the progression to an inflammatory state, and triggering carcinogenesis.
