I have been reading about the protease inhibitors engineered to cleave HCV proteins. I have also read this technology is going into phase I trials. My question: Is this a potential cure? Or, will this keep the viral load in check so the virus can't do damage.

I suspect this will be a therapy used in conjunction with other treatments. this will be an exciting development once this class of drugs is proven to work.
