I wanted to know do AA respond differently to therapy for HCV and if so, what is the exact mechanism as to why? If possible, can you provide me with literature that supports this? Thank-you.
 

We do not know why, but it appears that AA response rates are diminished (look up McHutchison JG, Gastroenterology 2000 119:1317). the mechanisms are the subject of a current NIH study that will try to examine genetic and immune variables.
