Ask Your Questions About-HCV! of our Hepatitis Experts:
ALT as indicator of response to tx
Hi--
I'm currently on a peg/rib study for hepc now into 5th week. No pcr qualitive or quantitive will be done untill week 24. However, blood tests are being done on a regular basis which show my ALT actually climbing from 98 to 117 and now almost 200.
Is this an indication of non viral response at this early stage? I am cirrhotic geno3a compensated, and have had it for 30 years.

That is not at all clear, as ALTs can rise on PEG in subsequent responders. Would continue in study. RC
