Worried about liver cancer

Dr. Rodriguez,

I am concerned, i have had hep c for over 30 yrs..either first iv drug use or also had transfusion. I am 53 yrs old., geno 3a, stage 1(2). I am worried about liver cancer if i do not treat, also i have been feeling worse, both physically and mentally. If i go into remission, what are the chances that i will mentally feel more normal??

If you undergo treatment and it is succesful,you will not have any of the complications of the liver disease,including cirrhosis and liver cancer. Treatment with interferon causes many side effects,but your doctor can help you to alleviate many of the symptoms.
