HCV in NY -Disparities/Cancer Deaths Up, Older People New Cases Up

These data are not different than presented at EASL & AASLD this year where we see globally the HCV epidemic getting worse with increasing HCC, increasing deaths, and increasing new cases. In the USA there are racial disparities with Blacks having worse outcomes still as well as I think Latinos, worse access to transplantation, and immunotherapy for advanced disease. Of note we see below older people with high rates of new cases, but more in looking at deaths in NYC from the 2018 data the highest death HCV rates were in age groups 45-64 & 65-84, and highest among Blacks & Latinos.
